December 15th "Things to Memorize"
Today is math we went over different fractional (rational) exponent rules. Mr. Maksymchuk told us to remember the "brown boxes" from our textbooks which contain rules that we need to know in this unit. He reviewed a few things we learned in grade 9 that relate to the rational exponents. We evaluated different questions WITHOUT using a calculator to prove that these rules are helpful. He also told us to memorize perfect squares and perfect cubes over the holidays.... if we want to, because they will make the unit much easier. We also taught Mr. Maksymchuk the meaning of the word "legit."

New Unit Assignment
Today in Math, almost all of us finished our factoring tests from Monday. After we were done, Mr. Maksymchuk put a list of things to do on the whiteboard. This is what we were to do:
1) Start Reading Chapter 4 pg.202 (stop reading when you get bored)
2) Define: Reals, Irrationals, Rationals, Integers, Wholes and Naturals.
3) Create a "Radical Properties Sheet"; Re-copy "Brown" Rules from chapter 4.
Note: The "Brown" Rules are in light brown boxes throughout the chapter. We are supposed to write all of them on a page in our binder so that we can have them handy when they are needed. ( The first on is in 4.3)
